Ghent’s Christmas Market lets you experience the spirit of Christmas in the heart of the historic city of Ghent. Taking place from 10 until 31 December 2020, the market is a beloved destination amongst locals and tourists alike.

The market consists of over 150 stalls, housed in wooden cabins, from Sint-Baafsplein, along the Botermarkt and Klein Turkije to the end of the Korenmarkt. The scent of pine resin and mulled wine is ever present… and Ghentians certainly enjoy a cup or two while strolling through the historic scenery.

The Christmas market is a good place to visit with kids, and while it does tend to get busy, social distancing rules are expected to be into effect when the market takes place this year. Many of the historic sightings giving Ghent its unique character are draped around the market area, and no visit would be complete without making a walk along the Graslei.
