El Charco del Ingenio
El Charco del Ingenio is an easy 1 mile (1.6 km) hike that offers the chance for hikers to see wildlife and natural formations in the area. It is great for all skill-levels and is accessible year round.
The hike is located in the El Charco del Ingenio-Jardín Botánico, which also offers tourists the opportunity to explore a wide range of flora and fauna native to the area.
The Jesuit Cave – North Approach
The Jesuit Cave – North Approach is a 5 mile (6.9 km) moderately hard (250m elevation) hike that features beautiful plants and flowers.
The hike location is an abandoned Jesuit settlement from the era of the Cristo War (1926). The trail loop passes the former settlement, which is now primarily ruins. The hike itself takes about 3 hours and has stunning views of the city.
