Narcos fans who love white sand beaches, clear blue waters and art have found heaven. Welcome to Casa Malca, Pablo Escobar’s former Tulum pad turned luxury art hotel!

The dreamer behind this paradise is Lio Malca, born in Colombia, gallery owner and art collector who now resides in New York City. Malca discovered the evocative property in 2012 and bought it shortly afterwards from its original owner (who had been returned after Escobar’s death).

Now it is a paradise for art lovers on Earth, with incredible contemporary pieces by artists such as KAWS, Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat, among others. In addition, the art, which is all from Malca’s own collection, is constantly rotated, so that at each visit you will experience a diverse selection of works.

Operated by Design Hotels, the five-star complex is located at 180 meters (591 feet) of virgin beach and has only 42 rooms, with 9 located in the original house and the rest in similar two-story architectural buildings built as a complement. -ons for more space.

With rates starting at £ 450, prices may not be friendly, but the experience is second to none. Whether you want to watch the sunset from the rooftop bar, enjoy the installation of James Turrell-esque light in the steam room, rest by the pool, soak your feet in the sea, look at Narcos in a Incredibly appropriate setting or just watch hours on Keith Haring’s wallpaper, Casa Malca is a dream vacation

So what are you waiting for? Vamonos!
