Inside cafe is a trendy, three-year old cafe that servers wonder breakfast. It was founded in 2016 by a young couple with a dream to create a collaboration between art, music, culture & hospitality. The cafe is a hip meeting point for entrepreneurs, digital nomads & open like- minded people.
2. Lavanda Cafe – $$ – $$$
This cafe is one of the top gourmet breakfast and brunch spots in the city. It is well known for its famous Eggs Benedict, homemade lemonade, and lavender coffee. It has a rustic, fresh, and cozy atmosphere.
3. Nectar – $$ – $$$
Nectar is a treat of a restaurant. It is set inside a traditional courtyard, behind an arched entry way. This local favorite has some of the best architecture an ambiance in town. It has a variety of healthy food options, including a delicious quinoa salad and fresh fruit and yogurt. The spot is also well known for its tea selection.
4. La Mesa Grande – $$ – $$$
This lovely, friendly, low-key place is on Zacteros, one of the main streets that leads to the Centro Jardin district of the city. Fresh, artisanal breads are the focal-point here, and it is a great place to find a healthy breakfast or lunch at reasonable prices. It is owned by a Mexican/Canadian couple who are delightful, and have wonderful tips for travelers. If you’re looking for a dinner spot – they also have a lively pizza night that includes live music.
5. Café Buen Día
This is an incredible hidden gem with excellent espresso and cappuccino, and traditional Mexican breakfast. The cafe itself is located on a picturesque street in San Miguel de Allende, which makes for a perfect post-breakfast stroll.
6. Rustica – $$ – $$$
This spot has a rustic, yet charming feel which leaves travelers feeling like they’re right at home. If you sit in the rear garden, you can hear the goats on the property next door and a babbling fountain. The food is fresh and delicious, and we recommend the barrata with strawberries, tomatoes, and greens, the fish tacos, and the pizza with sorrano ham and figs.
